Effects of Global Warming on Health Are on High Parameters These Days
Global warming can be defined as the unfavorable climate moderation that is caused mainly due to the trap of gases which include Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of Earth. It influences biodiversity and constitutes to a stern health problem. People staying in higher temperature zones consume more electricity to run air-conditioners and refrigerators. Hence more coal is burnt in the power plants, releasing more Carbon dioxide which spikes global warming and has a serious damaging effect on the human physical condition. Global warming is growing out of bounds these days and inflicts various health hazards that sometimes prove to be quite of a problem for human survival.
Are the effects of global warming on health dominated by greenhouse gases?
Natural greenhouse gases like Nitrous oxide, Ozone, and Methane, water vapor and Carbon dioxide grasp heat in the environment maintain the Earth temperature in accordance with human survival. The increased quantity of these gases due to various human actions like deforestation; burning of wood, oil, fossil fuels, natural gas and coal, and release of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) from industrialized operations produces heat in a larger amount to be held by the atmosphere, which is responsible for global warming. The effects of global warming on health that have been imposed till now cannot be undone completely but steps can be taken to slow down the process and improve the environmental conditions.
What can be the possible effects of global warming on health of human race?
Outburst of malaria, hanta virus, dengue fever and various other diseases are caused due to global warming. As stated by doctors, the event of kidney stones and many other conditions are likely to increase beyond bounds. The long term severe effect of global warming on the human health is warning the existence of human beings on Earth. The Ozone concentration at ground level increases due to high air temperature. The main function of natural Ozone Layer in the higher part of the atmosphere is to protect the Earth from the harmful ultraviolet radiations of the Sun; but the presence of Ozone at ground level damages lung tissues and causes many breathing diseases like Asthma.
Even the exposure of a healthy person to modest level of Ozone may lead to pulmonary congestion, chest pain and nausea. Although global warming also has some beneficial effects such as amplified the production of food in certain areas and fewer winter deaths in temperate climate but its overall health effects tend to be negative. Human health gets affected by the global warming because it makes the primary requirements for well-being (air, water, food, shelter) impure. Extreme high temperature of air causes deaths due to respiratory and cardiovascular disease, particularly in elderly people. High temperature increases the level of pollutants and ozone in the air which aggravate respiratory and heart disease.
Due to high heat, aeroallergen and pollen level increases in the air that can set off Asthma. Approximately 300 million individuals in the world are suffering from Asthma; ongoing rise in temperature can augment the pressure. According to a team of health and climate scientists at WHO, global warming has contributed to 5 million illnesses and more than 150,000 deaths annually and it is a serious threat to the health of human beings. Research data show that effects of global warming on health show up in many surprising ways such as creating conditions that lead to malnutrition; increasing the spread of many infectious diseases such as dengue fever and malaria and it also increases the possibilities of floods and heat waves.
